Prato & Gregg Wins Events at Slippery Rock Invitational

May 3 - SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Bethany College junior Paige Prato (Gibsonia, Pa./Deer Lakes) set one school record and qualified for ECAC Championships in another and junior Ben Gregg (Eighty Fo7536Prato12.jpgur, Pa./Bentworth) won the javelin during Friday's Slippery Rock Invitational.

Prato's big day started in the 100, where she would finish fourth behind three runners from Division II Slippery Rock. However, her time of 12.46 seconds eclipsed her own Bethany record time by .30 seconds.

Later in the meet, Prato (right) would win the 200 with a time of 26.00, which qualified her for ECAC Championships. It's the third event Prato has earned the right to compete in at ECACs, as she will also run in the 100 and 4x100 and it's the first time in her career she has qualified the 200. Freshman Bri Steich (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) took second in the 200 with a time of 27.85.

It's his second win in as many weeks, as Gregg won the PAC Championship last week for the second time in the last three years.
