April 13 - GREENVILLE, Pa. - Bethany College track & field junior Umar Moore (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon) has recently been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week, announced the PAC on Monday.
Moore paced the Bison men's track team to a 10th-place finish at the Westminster College Invitational on Saturday, capturing 20 of the team's 37 points with victories in both the long jump and triple jump events.
In the long jump, Moore picked up 10 points, defeating nine other athletes with a leap of 22-06.50. He then followed that performance with a victory in the triple jump, posting a distance of 45-08.50 to defeat 21 other competitors. The meet marked the second Invitational in a row that Moore has swept both events.
The 2015 PAC Indoor champion in both events, Moore is hitting his stride as this marks the second consecutive Field Athlete of the Week honor for the junior All-American.
Moore and the Bison will be back in action on Wednesday when they host the PAC South Quad Meet at Bison Stadium. Field events are scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. with the track events slated for a 4:00 p.m. start time.
