Jan. 19 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – Bethany indoor track juniors Umar Moore (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon) and Maria Jackson-McBride (Spotsylvania, Va. – West Potomac) have been named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week, announced the PAC on Monday. Moore earned the Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award, while Jackson-McBride was named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.
Moore was the lone winner for the Bison during the team's trip to the Otterbein Invitational on Saturday. In a field of 13 competitors, he earned a first-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 47 feet, 0.75 inches. He also posted a second-place mark in the long jump (22-09).
Jackson-McBride posted a pair of top-five finishes at Saturday's Otterbein Invitational. She ran to a third-place finish in the 400 (1:00.57), coming just seven-tenths of a second short of establishing a new Bethany record. She also earned a fourth-place finish in the 200 (27.06).
The Bison track and field teams will be back in action on Saturday, January 24 when they travel to Denison University to compete in the Lid Lifter Invitational. That meet is scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
