BCVB Drops 3-1 Decision to Geneva

Nov. 2 – BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Bethany College volleyball program was defeated in conference play for the first time this season as the Bison fell, 3-1, to Geneva College on Saturday evening.

The Bison dropped the first game 25-23, before coming back to take game two, 26-24 to knot the match at 1-1. Bethany then dropped game three 25-21before falling in game four by the same score to drop the match, 3-1. The loss marked the first defeat in PAC play for the Bison this season, as they finish their conference schedule 17-1.

Dakota McKenzie (Hopewell, Ohio/West Muskingum) and Dylana McKenzie (Hopewell, Ohio/West Muskingum) paced the Bison, notching 16 kills each. Breana Harris (Severn, Md./Old Mill)  totaled seven kills while Alexis Castro (Lorain, Pa./Lorain) and Lynsie Mandt (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) finished with six each. Mackenzie Lauber totaled 47 assists n the loss.

Defensively, Julia Mouch (Toledo, Ohio/Sylvania Southview) paced the Bison with 16 digs while Haley Santymire (Clifton, Va./Centreville) tallied 13 and Mandt finished with 11.

The Bison finish the season with an overall record of 27-9 and have earned the number one overall seed and home court advantage throughout the PAC playoffs. Bethany will host the semi-finals and finals on Friday and Saturday, November 8 & 9. The Green and White will take on the winner of #4 Westminster and #5 Saint Vincent at 8 p.m. Geneva will play in the other semi final match against the winner of #3 Thomas More and #6 Grove City.
