Oct. 18 - WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Bethany College volleyball team lost at Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College Thursday night by a 3-0 (28-30, 16-30, 26-30) score to fall to 7-17 overall and 2-9 in the PAC.

The Bison were led by senior Lauren Spegal (Bethel Park, Pa.) and freshman Emily Stewart (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) with 12 kills each. Already the Bethany career leader in kills (1,212), Spegal also banged home four aces to give her 128 and move her within seven of passing Heidi Fakes (134) for sixth place on the school’s career list in that category.

BC junior setter Kim McKay (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) totaled 22 assists in the match, while sophomore Rachael Dunham (Gans, Pa./Albert Gallatin) registered 13 digs to lead the defense.

Bethany returns to action Saturday with a home match against Waynesburg (Pa.) University, beginning at 11 a.m.
