Oct. 25 - CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Bethany College volleyball team (7-20, 2-11) made the long journey to Thomas More (Ky.) College Thursday night, where the Saints (22-10, 12-1) moved into a tie for first place in the PAC by dispatching the Bison 3-0 (30-18, 30-22, 30-22).

BC senior Lauren Spegal continued her outstanding season by recording a team-high 14 kills. That gives her 1,247 for her career and 351 this season, which ties Spegal with Abbey Otto’s total of 351 in 2003 for the fifth-most in Bethany single-season history.

Junior Kim McKay (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) also added to a very good year, as she gave out 23 assists and now has 756 on the campaign, seventh-most in one year at the school.

The Bison’s defensive efforts were led by sophomore Rachael Dunham (Gans, Pa./Albert Gallatin) with nine digs.

Bethany will take to the court again Saturday with a tri-match at Saint Vincent (Pa.) College. The Bison will face the host Bearcats at 11 a.m. before playing Franciscan (Ohio) University at 1 p.m. BC will be going for its third win of the year against the Barons, who they defeated in three games on Sept. 3 and again in five games on Sept. 17.
