Oct. 21 - LATROBE, Pa. – For just the second time in their last six meetings, the Bethany volleyball team won a set from Saint Vincent, but the Bearcats came away with a 3-1 victory over the Bison Tuesday night.

The teams exchanged wins through the first two sets, with the hosts winning the first 25-11 and the Bison (5-20) rebounding for a 25-18 triumph in the second. Saint Vincent (19-7) scored the win by taking the final two sets 25-18 and 25-15.

Freshman setter Megan Hoffman (Cambridge, Ohio/John Glenn) passed out 20 assists to lead the Bison attack, with nine going to freshman Courtney Meadows (Canton, Ohio/McKinley) and five to freshman Alyssa Schrecengost (Wexford, Pa./Vincentian).

A pair of Bison finished the match with 16 digs each in sophomore Sarah Olson (Rices Landing, Pa./Jefferson-Morgan) and freshman Tiffany Hoffman (Cambridge, Ohio/John Glenn), while freshman Carrie Talkington (Moundsville, W.Va./John Marshall) made three blocks.

Bethany will return to action Friday night against one of the PAC powerhouses, as they host Thomas More (21-5, 7-2) at 6 p.m. in Hummel Field House.
