Sept. 22 - WAYNESBURG, Pa. – Junior Carrie Talkington (Moundsville, W.Va./John Marshall) posted 15 kills and sophomore Lauren Goodwill (Canton, Ohio/Jackson) collected 14 to pace the Bethany volleyball team to a 3-1 PAC triumph at Waynesburg Wednesday night.

The Bison (11-1, 3-1) cruised through the first two sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-18 to seize control of the match. The last two sets were much more tightly contested, as the Yellow Jackets (4-7, 0-3) clipped BC in the third 27-25. Bethany was nearly pushed to a deciding set but ended the match with a 25-23 victory in the fourth to complete their fourth victory in a row.

Talkington had a big night, as she set a new career-high with the 15 kills, while Goodwill’s 14 putaways matched her career-high. Junior Jessica Zavatchen (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) passed off 48 assists in the triumph and a pair of Bison notched double digits in digs, led by junior Jessica Cole (Connellsville, Pa.) with 17 and junior Tiffany Hoffman (Cambridge, Ohio/John Glenn) with 16.

Bethany will step out of conference play for their next match, as they will play in a tri-match at Mount Union Saturday. The Bison will face Wilmington (Ohio) at 3 p.m. before matching up with the host Purple Raiders at 5 p.m.
