Oct. 7 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – Bethany junior Lynsie Mandt (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) has been named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player of the Week announced the conference office on Monday.
Mandt had arguably her best week of the 2013 season in three key conference matches. In Bethany’s 3-1 win over Westminster on Oct. 1, Mandt totaled eight kills and 13 digs. In last Saturday’s sweep of Geneva, she posted 14 kills while committing just two errors in 28 attempts (.429 hitting percentage), and followed up that performance with a 17-kill, 15-dig effort against Thomas More, marking her first double-double of the season. Mandt finished the week with a .312 hitting percentage, totaling 39 kills and added 36 digs.
On the season, Mandt currently ranks second on the team in total kills with 159 and ranks third on the team in both digs (163) and total blocks (30).
“Lynsie had an extremely successful week playing the best volleyball I have seen from her thus far,” said head coach Courtney Kline. “She really stepped up this weekend leading our team in kills and also playing solid back row defense. I look to for her to continue her solid play as we enter the second half of our PAC schedule.”
Mandt’s POTW honor marks the second-straight for the Bison as Lynsie joins Mackenzie Lauber, who won the award last week.
Mandt and the Bison will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, October 11 & 12 as they travel to compete in the Midwest Invitational hosted by Hope College and Calvin College.
