PAC Recognizes Cassidy’s Performance on the Court

Sept. 24 - GREENVILLE, Pa. – After assisting the Bethany College Women’s Volleyball team in beating out two top contenders in the conference, senior outside hitter Taylor Cassidy (Barboursville, W.Va./Cabell Midland) was named PAC Player of the Week for Sept. 24.

Cassidy registered 62 kills, 32 digs and six aces while helping add four wins to the team’s record last week. After contributing 17 kills to the team’s win over Franciscan, Taylor added 10 more to her career in a successful match against Carlow. She finished her fantastic week recording double-doubles in back-to-back wins over Geneva and Thiel on Saturday in Hummel Field House. Cassidy dominated the court with 10 kills and 12 digs in the first win against the defending PAC Champions, Geneva. Taylor then set her career high, gaining 25 kills to her record and dug up 10 balls in a 3-1 win over Thiel, putting the team in first place in the PAC with a 5-0 record.

In the process of helping the Bison add four wins to their 14-3 record, Cassidy surpassed 900 career kills in the Franciscan match-up. After the next three wins, Taylor stands with a record of 956 kills, leaving her 44 away from becoming only the fifth player in the program’s history to total 1,000 career kills.

“I am extremely pleased with Taylor’s efforts on the court this past week,” said Bison head coach Courtney Kline. “Not only did she perform great and produce on the court, she was a consistent leader for our team throughout the week.”

An English major, Taylor is the daughter of Tim and Leslee Cassidy.
