March 1 - WEXFORD, Pa. – Bethany College sophomore Anne Wilson (Saegertown, Pa./Cambridge Springs) was voted Second Team All-PAC by the coaches of the conference when the league announced its all-star teams.
The 5-4 point guard finished her second season as a Bison as the team’s leading scorer with 10.7 points per game, which also ranked her 14th in the PAC. Wilson also finished third in the PAC in three-point percentage (40.2), fourth in assists (3.38), fifth in three-pointers (43) and 14th in free throw percentage (75.3), all while playing a league-high 35.73 minutes per game.
One of Wilson’s top games came Feb. 8 in a 69-67 overtime win over Grove City when she scored a career-high 21 points and handed out four assists. It was one of 16 double-digit scoring efforts turned in by Wilson, who tallied 10 or more markers in eight of the final 10 games during the campaign.
“Anne plays harder that anyone I’ve been around,” said Bethany head coach Rebecca Upton. “She had to grow up a lot this year because of our lack of experience and she became an on-court and off-court leader for us. Bigger things are yet to come for Anne, so we are looking forward to the next couple years.”
A communication major, Anne is the daughter of Tom & Libby Wilson of Saegertown, Pa.
