Bethany College Announces New Majors for 2017-18 Academic Year

Bethany College is pleased to announce three new majors: Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity – Information Assurance and International Business. The College’s faculty members approved these new majors on Thursday, Dec. 8.

On Campus Board Game PlayTesting Event

On Saturday, Jan. 21, a board game prototype playtesting event will be held at Bethany Memorial Church from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. At the event, board game designers from the region and students taking the January Term board game design class will be playtesting their prototypes. Prizes include more than $1,000 worth of board games through a drawing to playtesters. To learn more about the playtesting event, click here.

New Old Main Journal Schedule

We hope all of our readers had a joyous holiday season! As 2017 kicks off, we would like to remind everyone of the new Old Main Journal schedule. The Old Main Journal will be published on the second and fourth Friday every month.

Save the date and join us for Alumni Weekend 2017 slated for May 5-7. Classes celebrating reunions include 1947, 1952, 1957, 1962, 1967, 1972 and 1977.

Also, save the date for Homecoming 2017 slated for Sept. 29-30. Classes celebrating reunions include 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2012, 2016.

Men's Basketball downs W&J 86-72

The Bethany men's Basketball team defeated Washington and Jefferson 86-72 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup on Wednesday.

Women's Basketball comes back to defeat W&J 79-73

The Bethany women's Basketball team used a fourth quarter comeback to defeat Washington and Jefferson 79-73 in a Presidents Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday.

Bison swimming compete at Franciscan; Stresky establishes mark in the 1,000 free

The Bethany College swimming and diving teams competed against Franciscan, Pitt-Bradford and NCAA Division II Lock Haven Saturday afternoon on Franciscan's campus.

Daugherty tabbed PAC Player of the Week

After tallying two double-doubles in two Bethany College victories last week, junior Kelsey Daugherty (Newport, Ohio/Frontier) was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week announced the league on Monday.

Truex named PAC Rookie of the Week

Bethany College freshman Chaice Truex (Wheeling, W.Va./St. John Central (Ohio)) was named Rookie of the Week by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) on Monday.

Battaglia named to USA Football U-18 Select coaching staff

Bethany College Defensive Coordinator Joe Battaglia has been named to the USA Football U-18 Select coaching staff for the 2017 International Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will air live on ESPN3.
