Baseball Drops Doubleheader to Marywood

March 13 - FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The Bethany College baseball team (4-4) completed the spring break portion of their 2015 season by dropping a pair of games to Marywood University on Friday. The Bison fell in game one, 3-0, before dropping game two by an 8-1 score.

In game one, the Bison ran into solid pitching, as the Green & White totaled three hits in the affair. Marywood pitcher Joseph DiLoretto totaled a complete-game, allowing just the three-hits while striking out eight.

In the second contest, the Bison dropped the decision by an 8-1 score, again running into a complete game pitching performance, this time from the Pacers Justin Haddix. Bethany's lone run in the contest came in the seventh inning when Zack Schlotter (Twinsburg, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) drew a bases-loaded walk for his first RBI of the season.

Offensively in game two, the Bison tallied six hits, including a team-best two from senior Cory Meyers (Verona, Pa./Plum).

Despite the losses, the Bison close out their spring break trip to Fort Pierce, Fla. with a .500 record, sitting at 4-4 on the season. The Green &  White will continue their campaign on Thursday, March 19 when they travel to Cresson, Pa. to take on Mount Aloysius College. The matchup is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
