Our History

Visit This Beautiful Place

Nestled on 1,300 beautiful acres in the rolling hills of the Allegheny Mountains, Bethany College is located just an hour’s drive from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of America’s greatest cities with a vibrant social and cultural scene, restaurants, clubs, sports teams, and entertainment. We’re also just a few minutes from historic Wheeling, West Virginia, with great shopping destinations, restaurants, and more.

Diversity of Faith

Though the college has a historic and ongoing relationship with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), students come from a variety of Protestant, Catholic, and other traditions, or identify with no particular faith. At Bethany, you have the opportunity to find a safe place to question, explore, and develop a growing faith in the context of a caring community.
