BETHANY, W.Va. — The Bethany College German Club and History Club teamed up on Wall Day on Thursday, Nov. 7, in recognition of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The Berlin Wall divided Berlin both physically and politically from 1961 until Nov. 9, 1989.

The students constructed a wall of cardboard boxes and created posters with information from “A Peaceful Revolution: 30 Years Fall of the Berlin Wall.” The multimedia booklet was published by the Goethe Institut in New York.

Embedded QR codes throughout the book and used on student-created posters invite those interested to hear accounts from witnesses. Copies of the booklet are available for viewing.

Dr. Harald Menz and Dr. Ian Lanzillotti are the faculty advisers of the German Club and History Club, respectively.
