Celeste Marchbanks, of Leavenworth, Kan., will graduate with a degree in international business with an emphasis on Asia and a minor in entrepreneurship.

Class of 2021 Celeste MarchbanksAfter graduation, Marchbanks plans to work with Opus Business Consulting for the summer conducting direct marketing operations and as an organizational consultant for a smaller firm. In September, Marchbanks will head to Boston to attend Hult International School and participating in the dual degree program, pursuing master’s degrees in Business Analytics and International Business.

While at Bethany, Marchbanks participated in the Black Student Union, Business Club, Alpha Xi Delta, Sigma Beta Delta, and the Honors Program.

Marchbanks cites conversations with Professor Andy Fletcher in the Business Department as a standout memory.

“I didn’t really get to know him until my sophomore year when I took an independent study with him,” Marchbanks said. “Every time I came in, he would hype me up and would talk to me about my life before anything else. He is someone who really cares for his students and aims to improve their lives. I was someone who was very forgetful and disorganized coming into college. And he helped me fix that, with his love of pocket notebooks, regular-sized notebooks, and huge notebooks. He taught me to make lists constantly and to write anything on my mind down. So, if I had to choose a favorite memory it would have to be every time I had class with him or just stopped by his office.”
