BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College recently hired alumnus Deno Emili ’78 as its director of alumni engagement.

“I am thrilled to welcome Deno back to Bethany College and excited about his vision for building relationships with our alumni,” said Lori Weaver, vice president of institutional advancement, marketing and communications. “Deno knows firsthand what it means to be a Bethanian, and he will be instrumental in expanding alumni engagement on and off campus.”

Emili returns to his alma mater after a career in commercial real estate. He most recently worked as legal counsel and compliance officer with Fraport USA in Pittsburgh. He previously worked with multiple real estate service providers after starting his career in Pittsburgh at General Nutrition Centers, Inc.

“Having spent 40 years as a commercial real estate attorney, I am looking forward to this new challenge and the opportunity to give back to an institution and a community I love,” Emili said. “My heart has never left Bethany.”

Emili graduated from Bethany with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a juris doctorate in general law from the University of Pittsburgh.

He has remained active in the Bethany community, serving as an adviser to the active men of Beta Theta Pi for more than 25 years, and more recently as a patron of the women’s softball team, creating an endowed fund for the program.

The director of alumni engagement works with the Bethany College advancement team and alumni council to engage Bethanians of all ages with activities, communications and service opportunities.

A lifelong resident of southwestern Pennsylvania, Emili and his wife, Kimberly, are looking forward to moving into their new Wheeling home this summer with their Boston Terrier, Stella.
