Cards for Children's Miracle Network HospitalsBETHANY, W.Va. – A Bethany College sorority is sending more than positive thoughts to patients at WVU Children’s Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

Members of Phi Mu, Beta Nu Chapter, encouraged fellow students and other visitors to the Ogden Dining Hall on Tuesday to make handwritten cards for young hospital patients. The sorority plans to personally deliver the cards.

Phi Mu President Kate Mills set a goal of at least 100 cards. Thanks to an early rush, Mills said, the sorority had reached its halfway point before noon.

Phi Mu CardsIn addition to the expected “Get Well,” the brightly colored cards featured such messages as “You Are Loved,” “You’re So Strong,” and “You’re One Tough Cookie.” Many included artwork.

The card drive is part of Phi Mu’s ongoing work with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. On a national level, Phi Mu is a corporate sponsor of the organization.

Mills said the local chapter has a strong relationship with the Morgantown hospital and she would like to establish a similar bond with UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
