Interdisciplinary Studies Teacher Education Partnership

Inspire young minds and shape your future in education with Bethany and WLU.
Bethany College and West Liberty University have partnered to create a Dual Enrollment Program in teacher education. This program offers students a direct path to becoming licensed elementary educators through a unique, collaborative academic experience.
Students who complete the program will earn a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from Bethany College and a degree in elementary education from West Liberty University. All applicable coursework is fully recognized by both institutions, ensuring a smooth transition and efficient progression toward graduation.
Bethany students remain on campus throughout the program, retaining eligibility for NCAA Division III athletics and engaging fully in college life. Upon program completion, graduates will be eligible to sit for the PRAXIS 2 examination, a key step in securing teacher licensure.
This partnership strengthens the regional teacher pipeline and supports students in launching impactful careers in education.
