BETHANY, W.Va. – In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Bethany College is joining thousands in a global campaign to transform the way individuals respond to sexual assault. A series of relevant events will take place on campus the week of April 15.
Monday, April 15 – Friday, April 19
The “What You Were Wearing” art display will be up in the back of the cafeteria. This display refutes the assumption that only those who wear revealing clothing can be the victim of sexual assault. Each outfit represents what individuals were wearing when they were assaulted.
Monday, April 15, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to make a pledge to start believing survivors.
Wednesday, April 17, 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
The Sexual Assault Help Center will be in the cafeteria to provide resources and to play a fun version of Jenga!
Thursday, April 18, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Amber Shipley, the “Title IX lady,” and college counselor Renee Stock will be in the Bethany Club to answer questions on Title IX.
Make your personal commitment to Start by Believing today, and help survivors on the road to justice and healing.
