BETHANY, W.Va. (Sept. 23, 2026) – Bethany College Director of Athletics Jen Windmiller, MBA ‘23, has announced the appointment of Evan Lewis as the new head coach of the College’s golf program.

Lewis takes over both the men’s and women’s golf teams after most recently serving as the assistant coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He helped lead the Crimson Hawks to a fourth-place finish at the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament, along with a top ten placing at the 2026 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional. While at IUP, Lewis was also a facility operations graduate assistant and an assistant in the school’s College of Business.

“Evan brings a strong playing background, valuable coaching experience, and a genuine commitment to student-athlete success,” said Windmiller. “His knowledge of the game, enthusiasm for coaching, and ability to connect with student-athletes will make an immediate impact on our golf program. We look forward to seeing him build on Bethany’s tradition and continue moving the program forward.”

Originally from Bromsgrove, England, Lewis attended Davis & Elkins College, where he was a four-time All-Mountain East Conference golfer and was a member of three MEC Championship teams. Individually, he finished second at the MEC Men’s Golf Championships twice and tied for third at the 2020 NCAA DII Atlantic/East Super Regional Championship. Lewis was also a two-time Golf Coaches Association of America Scholar Athlete for the Senators before joining the team at IUP as a graduate transfer in 2024-25.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the golf programs at Bethany College,” said Lewis. “I’m excited to get to work, meet our student‑athletes, and continue building a strong culture both on and off the course.”

Lewis graduated from Davis & Elkins with his Bachelor of Science in sport management & business in 2023 and received both his Master of Science in sport management and his MBA in business and marketing from IUP.
