BETHANY, W.Va. — Bethany College President Dr. Jamie Caridi has announced the promotion of Jason Koegler to vice president for advancement, where he will oversee alumni engagement, fundraising initiatives, and donor relations.

Koegler joined Bethany in May 2025 as assistant vice president for alumni engagement and advancement, helping to strengthen relationships with alumni and key supporters. In his new role, he will lead efforts to expand donor participation, enhance alumni engagement, and build strategic partnerships that advance the College’s mission and student experience.

“Jason brings deep experience in advancement and an ability to build lasting relationships with donors and alumni,” Caridi said. “His leadership will ensure that Bethany continues the momentum we have built in fundraising and alumni engagement.”

Koegler most recently served as executive director of Grow Ohio Valley, a Wheeling-based nonprofit focused on sustainable food systems and community revitalization. He previously spent more than 15 years as vice president for external affairs at West Liberty University, where he led major gifts, branding, corporate relations, and alumni initiatives—helping raise more than $15 million in external funding and more than doubling the university’s foundation endowment.

Reflecting on his new role, Koegler said, “Bethany’s alumni and friends care deeply about this College and its future. I’m honored to help build on that loyalty by fostering meaningful connections that strengthen our community, open new opportunities for students, and ensure Bethany continues to thrive for generations to come.”

Koegler holds an MBA from West Liberty University and an MA in Higher Education Administration from West Virginia University. He is also a co-founder of Weelunk.com, a Wheeling-based civic media organization, and serves on several regional nonprofit boards, including Wheeling Heritage, Friends of West Virginia Public Broadcasting, and Youth Services System.

Koegler resides in Wheeling with his wife, Sarah, and their children Campbell, Will, and Cora.
