BETHANY, W.Va. (August 20, 2026) — Bethany College has promoted Tammy S. Richmond, MBA, MSA, CPA, to director of graduate studies, broadening her leadership responsibilities while she continues to serve as associate professor of accounting, chair of the department of business, and MBA program coordinator.

The appointment demonstrates the College’s continued investment in graduate education and the development of innovative academic opportunities that prepare students for success in an evolving workforce. 

“Tammy’s leadership consistently elevates the quality of our academic programs,” said Dr. Jeffrey R. Breese, vice president for academic affairs and chief academic officer. “She brings a thoughtful, strategic perspective to every initiative and has earned the trust and respect of colleagues and students alike. Her experience and vision for the future makes her the ideal person to lead the continued development of Bethany’s graduate programs.” 

In her new role, Richmond will provide strategic leadership for the College’s graduate programs through Bethany Online, working collaboratively with faculty and campus leadership to enhance academic quality, support program development, strengthen enrollment initiatives, and enrich student experience. She will continue to oversee the College’s Master of Business Administration program while advancing initiatives that support student success. 

Richmond holds extensive experience in higher education and accounting professions. As a Certified Public Accountant, she can provide practical industry expertise with a student-centered approach to teaching, preparing graduates with the knowledge, leadership skills, and ethical foundation needed to succeed in today’s business environment.
