BETHANY, WV – Bethany College raised about $3,200 for charity at its Eighth Annual Light Up Night and Charity Christmas Auction amidst a snowy backdrop Dec. 6.
The event included an official lighting of the tree, along with a charity auction, which featured 35 donated holiday or theme-inspired trees, wreaths, or baskets. The highest bid of over $400 went to a wreath and other items donated by the Bethany College Equine Club.
All proceeds were donated to Bernie’s Kids. Named in honor of the late Brooke County Sheriff and Commissioner, Bernie Kazienko, the nonprofit provides Christmas presents for needy children in the county.
Over 200 attendees enjoyed Christmas carols, refreshments, and a visit from Santa Claus.
