BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College is announcing the appointment of Dr. Parul Kalia as assistant professor of psychology, bringing a wealth of academic expertise and a passion for psychology to our vibrant campus community. 

“We are honored to welcome Dr. Parul Kalia to Bethany College,” says Bethany President Dr. Jamie Caridi. “Her impressive background and passion for psychology make her a valuable addition to our faculty. We are confident that she will inspire and mentor our students, fostering an environment of intellectual curiosity and academic excellence.” 

Prior to joining Bethany College, she served as an assistant professor in the department of human development and family studies at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Kalia holds a doctorate of philosophy in human development and family studies, with a minor in extension education and communication management from Punjab Agricultural University. Her research focuses on the status of available social support and the quality of life of primary caregivers of dependent elderly individuals. Her dedication to understanding the complexities of human relationships and family dynamics will undoubtedly enrich the educational experience of our students. Parul Kalia

In addition to her academic achievements, Kalia has received numerous accolades, including a junior research fellowship-NET from the University Grants Commission and a senior research fellowship from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. She has also served as the department representative for Criteria 2 in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), showcasing her commitment to institutional excellence. 

Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs Chuck Stinemetz expressed enthusiasm for Kalia’s appointment, saying, “Dr. Kalia’s expertise and dedication to psychology align perfectly with our mission to provide a high-quality education that empowers students to excel.
