BETHANY, W.Va. — Shults Ford contributes during October’s breast-cancer awareness initiatives by donating $500 to the Zeta Tau Alpha Beth Mayer Hersh Scholarship.
The scholarship honors Beth Mayer Hersh ‘79, a Bethany alum and lifelong resident of Pittsburgh’s North Hills, who courageously battled breast cancer. Established to recognize her strength and compassion, the scholarship continues to provide support to members of Zeta Tau Alpha’s Theta Chapter who exemplify leadership, service, and sisterhood.
“At Ford, breast-cancer awareness is a fundamental pillar of our philanthropy,” said Richard Bazzy, owner of Pennsylvania’s largest Ford dealership. “This scholarship award illustrates the interconnectivity of our community, people of all ages from across the Shults Ford family of dealerships coming together to make a difference in the battle against breast cancer.”
Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy is breast-cancer education and awareness, a mission the Bethany chapter actively supports through campus and community events. Throughout October, the sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha assisted with Quilt for the Cure, supported by the Neighborhood Ford Store, as part of a regional effort to promote breast-cancer awareness.
Nancy Lewis ‘78 of neighborhood ford store and Ashley Subasic ‘06, the Ohio Valley ZTA alumnae chapter president, helped coordinate the presentation, commending both Shults Ford and Zeta Tau Alpha for their shared commitment to advancing breast-cancer awareness and education.
