November 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us via Zoom at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 6 as Marianne Clyde ’75 leads a discussion on “Choosing a Life of Impact.” Register below!

At 70, Marianne has recently taken up flying. She ran a marathon and climbed Mt. Fuji at 54, trekked to Mt. Everest base camp at 65, went skydiving at 63 and 69, and donated her kidney at 64. Having traveled to over 20 developing countries, she has worked with amputees from the Sierra Leone Civil war, child soldiers, trafficking victims in Cambodia, rape victims in the DRC, victims of hunger and AIDS in Malawi, natural disasters in Pakistan, and more. She is an award-winning therapist and business owner, best selling author, and TEDx speaker. Her latest book, released Sept. 10, 2024, is “Supernova Woman: Reimagining Life After You Turn 50.”

As a licensed therapist, Marianne had counseling centers throughout the U.S. and Japan for 30 years. She now focuses her finely tuned coaching skills on encouraging and supporting women over 50 to live with purpose and make an impact on future generations. She is married with eight grown and step kids and 20 grandchildren.

Bethany College and the Alumni Council are excited to bring you the annual Bethany Connect Speaker Series. On select dates, the Bethany community will join to think about the questions raised by our times. The series started as a Zoom event during the height of the pandemic, but what once was an adaptation to a tricky situation has since proven to be an effective way to join the entire Bethany community together. Bethany is committed to engaging Bethanians of all ages through this series. So, join us—listen, learn, and ask questions. We look forward to connecting current students, faculty, and staff with the broader Bethany community through our Bethany Connect Speaker Series.
