Bison Book Club

October 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

How well do we really know the people closest to us?

That question sits at the heart of our next Bison Book Club selection, and we invite you to join us for an evening of conversation, connection, and a story that may have you looking at the people in your own life a little differently.

Next Session:
Thursday, Oct. 8 | 7–8 p.m. ET
Virtual Discussion via Zoom

Our next selection is “The Things We Never Say,” by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Elizabeth Strout.

At the center of the story is Artie Dam, an eleventh-grade history teacher whose seemingly ordinary life is suddenly upended when he discovers that life has been keeping a secret from him. What follows forces Artie to confront difficult questions about his own life — and how much he truly understands about the people closest to him.

It’s a story about secrets, relationships, and the pieces of ourselves we sometimes keep hidden, even from those we love.

And perhaps the most intriguing question is the simplest:

How is it that we know so little about even those closest to us?

Come read along and join the conversation. Whether you’re a longtime member of the Bison Book Club or looking for your next great read, we’d love to have you with us.
