BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College has announced the hiring of Brad Rager as its band director.

In his new role, Rager will recruit students and implement a new pep band to support the Bison athletic programs.

“Bethany College is pleased to announce the development of a competitive Band and Drum Corps,” Bethany College President Tamara Nichols Rodenberg said. “We welcome Director Rager and look forward to the energy, excellence, and creativity he will bring to our campus.”

He most recently served as the director of MBA programs at Wheeling Jesuit University. He previously was program manager and academic adviser for West Virginia University College of Business and Economics graduate programs and graduate education administrator and program coordinator for WVU School of Pharmacy Office of Research and Graduate Programs.

He also has taught or consulted for Drum Corps International, Fairmont State University, and numerous high school bands in Colorado, West Virginia, and Ohio.

“I’m excited about working with students like those who come to Bethany because there’s already a culture of excellence,” Rager said.

Rager, who grew up in Wellsburg and lives in Wheeling, is principal tuba for the Tri-State Community Concert Band.
