Spiritual Life

Bethany welcomes students from many different faith traditions.

Since our inception, the College has an historic and on-going relationship with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

At Bethany, you have the opportunity to find a safe place to question, explore, and develop a growing faith in the context of a caring community.

Bethany Memorial Church

Bethany Memorial Church is a “church away from home” for those who come from church backgrounds and offers them the nurturing and support they need as well as to give them a place where their gifts can be received and appreciated. Worship services take place every Sunday morning at 10:45 a.m.

CHURCH RELATIONS

Bethany’s rich heritage as a training ground for leaders in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) provides the root-stock from which our present work grows. The Office of Church Relations oversees the work of Historic Bethany and the Campbell Archives. It is delights in connecting today’s churches to their roots here in “Mecca.”

Buffalo Seminary
At Bethany, Buffalo Seminary takes the continuing education of all orders of ministry (ordained, licensed lay), especially among the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The focus of the education is on practical ministry in a time of rapid cultural and technological change. Their mission is accomplished through short-term workshops, lectures series, and other outreach activities.

Oreon E. Scott Lectures
Oreon E. Scott graduated summa cum laude from Bethany in 1892. He received his bachelor of laws degree from the University of Michigan in 1894. He was later elected as a trustee of Bethany. His service to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) included charter membership of the Pension Fund, membership on the executive committee of the National Benevolent Association, president and chairman of the Christian Board of Publication and president of the board of trustees of the National City Christian Church. Today, the lectures serve as informational and inspirational to the College and community.

CATHOLIC MASS

Catholic mass is celebrated every Sunday evening at 6:30 pm at the St. John Fisher Chapel (201 Richardson St). All students, staff, faculty, and administrators are welcome!
