About Counseling at Bethany
Counseling is a space for self-discovery, growth, and support. Many students find it helpful for building confidence, improving relationships, and navigating challenges during their college experience.
At Bethany, counseling services are confidential and available to all enrolled students. You do not need to be in crisis to seek support—many students use counseling as a proactive way to manage stress and adjust to college life.
Reasons Students Seek Counseling
Students come to counseling for many different reasons, including:
- Relationship challenges (friends, family, partners, roommates)
- Stress, anxiety, or depression
- Difficulty adjusting to college life or change
- Academic pressure or procrastination
- Feelings of loneliness, anger, sadness, or loss
- Questions about identity or personal direction
- Substance use concerns
- Struggles with independence
If you are finding college stressful, you are not alone. Many students benefit from having a space to talk through what they are experiencing.
Counseling is also confidential. Information shared with a counselor is not disclosed to faculty, staff, students, parents, or others outside of Student Counseling Services, except in rare situations where safety or legal requirements require it.
