BETHANY STUDENT RECEIVES SCHOLARSHIP FROM APPALACHIAN POWER COMPANY

BETHANY, W.Va. – Benjamin Brownlee, a student at Bethany College, has been chosen as the recipient of a scholarship from Appalachian Power Company. Brownlee, a Communication major, is from Moundsville, W.Va.

Appalachian Power, who recently announced its membership in the Circle of Vision Scholarship Program, provided scholarships to one student attending each of the private colleges and universities in the state.

The Circle of Vision Scholarship Program is administered by West Virginia Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc. (WVICU). Bethany College is a member of the nine member consortium of colleges and universities that make up WVICU.

Since 1997, the Circle of Vision Scholarship Program has provided more than $2.1 million in scholarship funds to 1,770 West Virginia college students. Scholarship recipients must demonstrate financial need and academic promise, attend a private college or university in West Virginia, reside in West Virginia, and maintain a satisfactory grade point average throughout the period of scholarship receipt.
