Bethany College is humbled and excited to announce new higher-level education partnerships and opportunities that are available to both current and prospective students who are seeking continuing education after undergraduate completion.

With these new additions comes the chance for students to continue to thrive at Bethany and beyond, with a seamless and educational transition into working toward an advanced degree. Our pipeline and accelerated programs offer students a faster track toward a degree, which means less time and less money.

Bethany is taking bold steps towards forming the educational future that will continue to foster developing minds for years to come. With a changing higher education landscape, Bethany strives to continue to provide current and prospective students with new avenues to pursue advanced degrees.

Medical Partnerships 

West Virginia Wesleyan College - BSN

Earn your BSN and Interdisciplinary Studies degrees in four years while living on Bethany’s campus!

By combining West Virginia Wesleyan College’s top-tier nursing program with Bethany’s interdisciplinary approach to education, you will gain a competitive edge in the healthcare field. You’ll complete clinical rotations through WVWC and their affiliates, giving you real-world experience caring for sick and critical patients, as well as opportunities to network with professional healthcare workers.

You will also be eligible to compete in our Division III athletics for all four years of the program.

During your four years of residency, you’ll get to experience the vibrant Bethany community, as well as the natural beauty that surrounds our campus:

  • Rolling hills and four miles of hiking trails
  • Waterfalls and outdoor classes
  • NCAA Division III athletics, co-curriculars, and campus traditions that keep you engaged beyond the classroom

You will graduate with a unique, well-rounded education that prepares you to take the NCLEX examination right after graduation, ready to step into the high-demand healthcare workforce when your skills are needed most.

WEST VIRGINIA SCHOOL OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE - DO

Bethany College offers you the opportunity to earn early guaranteed admittance to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) upon successful completion of program requirements. This partnership provides a clear, supported route toward a medical career starting as early as your sophomore year.

You will be eligible for consideration during your sophomore year if you meet the academic criteria. Once accepted, you’ll be paired with a dedicated WVSOM faculty mentor who will monitor your progress, answer your questions, and connect you with job-shadowing opportunities and medical professionals who can help expand your network.

To qualify for the program, you must:

  • Have a science GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • Complete eight hours of biology with labs
  • Complete eight hours of general chemistry with labs
  • Submit your application during the spring of your junior year
  • Apply by June 30; interviews take place through the end of July

WVSOM has been ranked among the nation’s top medical schools for more than two decades and is #1 in the nation for graduating physicians who go on to practice in rural areas, according to Academic Medicine.

This partnership gives you a powerful advantage of early assurance, mentorship, and real-world experience as you prepare for your future in medicine.

NORTHEAST OHIO MEDICAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF PHARMACY - Pharm.D.

Bethany College has partnered with the prestigious Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) College of Pharmacy to give you a defined pipeline into NEOMED’s Doctor of Pharmacy program through an early assurance opportunity.

Through this agreement, incoming Bethany students and current chemistry or biochemistry majors may apply for early assurance after completing 60 prerequisite credits at Bethany.

To be eligible, your prerequisite coursework must include:

  • Two semesters of organic chemistry with labs
  • Two semesters of physics with labs
  • Two semesters of biology with labs
  • One semester of biochemistry

Bethany and NEOMED work together to provide you with pre-admission support and pharmacy career counseling, helping you understand the profession, strengthen your preparation, and navigate the next steps toward pharmacy school.

This partnership gives you a clear, early pathway to pursue a Pharm.D. and begin shaping your future in the pharmaceutical sciences.

SAINT GEORGE'S UNIVERSITY IN GRENADA, WEST INDIES - MD or DVM

Finish a pre-med or pre-veterinary degree at Bethany College and continue your MD or DVM at St. George’s University and its affiliates.

Through our partnership with St. George’s University (SGU), you can pursue this program in two ways:

  1. If you are enrolled in Bethany’s biology or chemistry program, you can apply to the 3 + 4 program offered in conjunction with SGU. In this option, you can choose to spend your senior year (assuming all prerequisites have been met) at SGU, where you will finish your first Basic Sciences year of the MD program. Upon completion of your senior year, you will receive your Bachelor of Science from Bethany and can move right into studying full time in Granada, West Indies. You will have two years of clinical trials after completing your medical studies.
  2. Alternatively, you may choose the 4 + 4 program. Here, you will finish either your pre-med or pre-veterinary degree
    at Bethany, then (assuming you have met SGU’s requirements) continue your education depending on your desired
    doctorate, MD or DVM. As a medical student, you will have the option of studying in Grenada for two years or studying at Northumbria University in the UK for a year followed by two in Grenada. You will have two years of clinical trials after completing your medical studies. As a veterinary student, you will complete three years in Grenada, followed by a final year at any of SGU’s affiliated schools in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, or the Netherlands.

Candidates for either program must maintain a strong grade point average and achieve competitive scores on relevant exams. Application fees for SGU are waived for applicants.

This partnership provides a pathway to fast-track your medical or veterinary career with a seamless transition from undergraduate studies to professional school, preparing you for success on a global stage.

WHEELING UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE - DPT

Follow a clear, supported path from your bachelor’s degree to a doctorate in physical therapy.

Bethany College offers a defined pathway into Wheeling University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, a route designed to help you take the next big step in your health science career. Through this partnership, you can build a strong academic foundation at Bethany and position yourself for advanced professional study at Wheeling.

You may pursue any Bethany undergraduate major that fulfills Wheeling’s DPT prerequisite requirements. Throughout your time at Bethany, your academic advisor will help you choose courses and experiences that strengthen your application and keep you on track.

Each year, Wheeling University will accept a minimum of two qualified Bethany graduates into its highly regarded DPT program.

To be considered for admission, you must:

  • Complete an undergraduate degree from Bethany College
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
  • Submit a verified application through the Physical Therapy Centralized Application Service (PTCAS)
  • Provide acceptable Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores
  • Participate in Wheeling’s interview process for potential placement

This partnership supports you as you prepare for professional graduate study, offering a clear, intentional route toward a doctorate in physical therapy and a meaningful career in the health sciences.

Law Partnership

APPALACHIAN SCHOOL OF LAW - JD

Save time and money–earn your bachelor’s degree and juris doctor in six years through the Accelerated Law School Guaranteed program.

Through our accelerated 3 + 3 program, you will finish your baccalaureate degree through Bethany and your juris doctor through Appalachian School of Law (ASL) in three years each, shaving a year off the typical path students take.

To be eligible, you must meet the following academic criteria:

  • Completion of all Bethany College core requirements
  • A minimum of two and half years in residence at Bethany
  • 90 credit hours at Bethany College
  • Passing grades on comprehensive exams

In addition, you must:

  • Maintain a 3.0 grade point average
  • Achieve an LSAT score exceeding or equal to 153
  • Receive approval for accelerated study from Bethany’s pre-law advisor

If you do not qualify for the Direct Admission Advantage program, you may still apply once you have completed your bachelor’s degree. In these cases, ASL will schedule an interview to assess readiness for professional study and then make an expedited decision within one week.

If you meet the eligibility, character, and fitness requirements to practice law, your acceptance to ASL is guaranteed.

To participate in the Accelerated Law School Guaranteed program, you must apply before Jan. 1 of the year you plan to
enroll at ASL.

Education Partnership

West Liberty University - Elementary School Education

Earn a joint degree from Bethany College and West Liberty University in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in elementary education, all while living and learning on Bethany’s campus.

Through our partnership with West Liberty University, you’ll follow a seamless academic path that prepares you to become a licensed elementary school teacher. All coursework is completed as part of the joint program, and you’ll graduate with the credentials from West Liberty University to sit for the PRAXIS 2 exam.

You will also be eligible to compete in our Division III athletics for all four years of the program.

In addition to your enhanced educational experience, you’ll get to experience the vibrant Bethany community, as well
as the natural beauty that surrounds our campus.

Rize Education

Bethany College has partnered with Rize Education to deliver high-quality, flexible, online student experiences. Rize specializes in connecting academic rigor with industry relevance. Bethany’s programs through Rize include digital marketing, game development, healthcare administration, and esport gaming management.

Our partnership enriches the curriculum with the latest industry trends and combines the convenience of online learning with the effectiveness of traditional campus engagement, providing students with a comprehensive and adaptable educational pathway that maximizes the best of both worlds. For parents, this means students will graduate with the same life-changing degree from Bethany College while elevating skills that will prepare them for the modern workforce. 

Rize Programs:

Partnership with Brooke County Schools

BETHANY COLLEGE - BROOKE COLLEGIATE ACADEMY

On Sept. 2, 2022, the College announced its partnership with Brooke County Schools to create the Bethany College – Brooke Collegiate Academy, which will allow students in the county to enroll in college classes and receive credit from Bethany College while still in high school. This will enable students to obtain free college courses, graduate college sooner and with less debt, and potentially complete a bachelor’s degree in three years instead of four. Brooke County Schools and the Board of Education will pay for all books, materials, course fees, and transportation to the College, while Bethany College will provide qualified students with relevant courses taught by Bethany faculty members. The program will integrate high school and college education to improve student learning, persistence, and satisfaction.
