BETHANY STUDENTS SELECT HOMECOMING ROYALTY

BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College students selected Homecoming royalty who reigned over the Oct. 7-9 festivities on the campus as hundreds of students and alumni celebrated the annual fall weekend.

Named King and Queen for Homecoming 2005 were Joseph Henderson II of Wheeling, W.Va. and Hillary Norman of New Cumberland, W.Va.

Henderson, a Biology major, represented Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. Son of Joseph and Cathy Henderson, he is a member of Tri-Beta Honor Society; a Student Government Representative; an InterFraternal Council Committee member; a Big Brothers/Big Sisters member; an Outdoor Club member; and member of the Bethany College Choir and the Bethany Broadway Singing Group.

Norman, a Managerial Economics major, represented Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Daughter of David and Debbie Norman, she is a member of the Economics Club; a Senior Fellow; and Financial Vice-President of Alpha Xi Delta sorority.

Members of the Homecoming Court were:

Brett Allen of Weirton, W.Va., a Chemistry major, representing Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, is the son of Richard and Kay Allen. He is a member of the American Chemical Society; Gamma Sigma Epsilon, chemistry honor society; and the Bethany College Choir. Allen is also President of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.

Matthew Drahos of Wheeling, W.Va., a Biology major, representing the Independent Student Body, is the son of Michael Drahos. He is a member of the men's basketball team.

Kevin Eckenrod of Cresson, Pa., a Psychology major, representing Delta Tau Delta fraternity, is the son of Mary Jean and Edward Westover. He is a member of the student trainers and is an active participant in intramural athletics.

Daniel Gump of South Park, Pa., a Psychology major, representing the Independent Student Body, is the son of Brenda and Keith Schragl. He is a member of Student National Education Association; Psi Chi, psychology honor society; and participates in intramural athletics.

Kenneth Hopper of Charleston, W.Va., an Economics major and History minor, representing Sigma Nu fraternity, is the son of Thomas and Martha Hopper. He is a member of the cross country, soccer, and track teams; Student Athletic Advisory Committee; Economics and Business Club; Omicron Delta Epsilon, economics honor society; Pi Gamma Mu, social science honor society; Phi Alpha Theta, history honor society; and Kappa Mu Epsilon, mathematics honor society. Hopper is also President of Sigma Nu fraternity, a Kalon Scholar and a Student Court Justice.

Bethany Addis of Connellsville, Pa., an Environmental Science major, representing Alpha Xi Delta sorority, is the daughter of Floyd and Diane Addis. She is a member of Tri-Beta Honor Society; the Environmental Science Club; SOAR member; and American Chemical Society. Addis is the senior class treasurer.

Becky Cline of Jeannette, Pa., an Elementary Education major, representing Alpha Xi Delta sorority, is the daughter of Keith and Barbara Cline. She is the Panhellenic Council President; a member of Student National Education Association; and Student Activities Council.

Dana Culbert of North Huntingdon, Pa., an Elementary Education major, representing Alpha Xi Delta sorority, is the daughter of Roy and Teena Culbert. She is a member of the swim team; Student Athletic Advisory Committee; and Student National Education Association. Culbert is the President of Alpha Xi Delta sorority.

Cara Henry of St. Clairsville, Ohio, a Biology major, representing Alpha Xi Delta sorority, is the daughter of Cindi and Kenneth Henry. She is a member of Tri-Beta Honor Society; American Chemical Society; SOAR; Panhellenic Council; and Student Activities Council. Henry is senior class secretary.

Holly Martinko of Greensburg, Pa., an Education major, representing Alpha Xi Delta sorority, is the daughter of Greg and Kathy Martinko. She is a member of the volleyball team; SOAR; and Kappa Delta Pi, education honor society. Martinko is senior class president; vice president of the Student Activities Council; a Senior Fellow; and Kalon scholar.
