BETHANY, W.Va. — The Bethany College Alumni Association will kick off the Bethanians Understanding Real Professions (B.U.R.P) 2006-07 speaker series at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29.

The event, which is being held at the Mountainside Conference Center, will feature guest speaker, J.P. Blaho, a brief workshop on letter and resume writing and a fashion show to help demonstrate what is appropriate to wear for job interviews.

The evening will begin with a continental dinner followed by Blaho speaking about the job search process. An alumnus of Bethany, Blaho graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He currently serves as the Product Manager for Internap in Atlanta, Ga.

Often, new graduates find themselves at a loss when it comes to applying and interviewing for a new job. In its second year, B.U.R.P. is looking to give students the opportunity to prepare themselves for the process of finding a job and the know how to network with others in their field.

The event is free to Bethany students. Juniors and seniors are encouraged to attend this as well as two other events which are being planned for February 2007.
