June 13 - WEXFORD, Pa. – A total of 24 Bethany College student-athletes were honored Friday when the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) released the Spring 2008 PAC Academic Honor Roll.
A total of 315 student-athletes from league schools were named to the honor roll, which recognizes those on winter and spring varsity athletic teams who earned a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the semester of their competition. The 315 honorees top the 280 student-athletes who were recognized following the Spring 2007 semester, marking a nine percent increase.
Of the 24 Bison honorees, 11 of those earned a GPA higher than 3.8, including two with perfect 4.0s Bethany’s women’s programs contributed 63 percent of the members on the list, including women’s track and field (six), softball (five) and women’s basketball (four).
The top school in the PAC was Grove City with 60 student-athletes earning PAC Academic Honor Roll recognition. Next up was Washington & Jefferson (48), followed by Westminster (38), Saint Vincent (29), Waynesburg (28), Geneva (26), Bethany, Thomas More (23), Thiel (21) and Chatham (18).
