David E. (Dave) Tucker
Class of 1987

Dave Tucker, Class of 1987, held College swimming records in the 200-meter freestyle and the 400-meter individual medley at the time of his graduation, one of which still stands today (400-meter individual medley). He was co-captain of the swim team from from 1984-86, also qualifying for NCAA National Championships in 1983 and 1984.

In 1986, Tucker was the first recipient of the William Hanna Award as the Outstanding Senior Athlete.

A resident of Mooresville, N.C., Tucker is a high school business and economics teacher and swim coach. He and his wife, Kathy, have two children.
