James Regan
Class of 1981 

Regan was a four-year letterman on the Bison soccer team and was captain of the team in his senior year. He earned First Team All-PAC honors twice and was part of four PAC championship teams. He would also stay on as an assistant coach at Bethany for three years following his playing days and was on the bench in 1982 when the Bison lost in the national championship game.

Following his graduation from Bethany in 1981 with distinction in Physical Education, Regan continued to coach soccer. He was named the head coach at Wheeling Jesuit University in 1983 and has compiled a 365-213-48 record during his tenure. He led the Cardinals to a top 20 ranking in 2003 and an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament in 2000.

Regan, who serves as the academic advisor for the athletic department at Wheeling Jesuit in addition to his coaching duties, also serves on the board of directors for the Eagles Soccer Club in Wheeling.

A native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, Regan resides in Wheeling with his wife Jill.  They have four children; Sean, Brandon, Kyle and Danielle.
