Jeff Beer
Class of 1981

Jeff Beer, a Moon High School graduate, was a three-year letterman in football and co-captain of Coach Don Ault's 1980 team which took the Conference championship with a school-first perfect (9-0) regular season. That year, the team went on to Bethany's first-ever NCAA football playoff birth, and Ault and Beer were named area NCAA Division III Coach and Player of the Year by the Pittsburgh Curbstone Coaches. 

The team's signal caller, Beer was the NCAA Division III leader in total offense in 1980 with 2,534 yards, completing 177 of 329 passes for 2,367 yards and 17 touchdowns. A two-time offensive player of the year in the PAC, he was named an NCAA Division III All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Beer started 21 games for the Bison during his career, completing 388 of 736 passes for 5,580 yards and 48 touchdowns.

After graduation from Bethany, he also was a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Colts football team. A communications major, he currently is the regional manager with the Chattex Corp and resides in Wexford, Pa.
