March 20 - FT. MYERS, Fla. – Junior Zac Edmiston (right - California, Pa.) stroked a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Bethany College baseball team to an 11-10 victory over Lawrence (Wisc.) University in the opening game of Wednesday’s doubleheader in Ft. Myers, Fla.
In the nightcap, it was the Vikings’ turn to pull out a walk-off win, as they scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to claim a 2-1 triumph over the Bison, who dropped to 2-6 on the season with the split.
The BC bats had a huge performance in the opening game of the afternoon to give the Green and White the win. Four different players had multi-hit games, led by junior SS Juls Leto (McKees Rocks, Pa./OLSH), who was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI. Another big hit was delivered by sophomore OF Cory Myers (Verona, Pa./Plum), who ripped a three-run triple.

Coming in from the bullpen with three shutout innings of work was freshman Joe Giles (McKees Rocks, Pa./Sto-Rox), while senior Brad Kubis (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) threw a scoreless seventh inning to record the win.
Game two was a pitcher’s duel, as neither team managed to dent the scoreboard until extra innings. Senior Zak Kozlowski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) was stellar with six shutout frames. Sophomore Dan Petrella (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) kept the Vikings scoreless for two more innings.
In the top of the ninth, BC jumped in front when Leto (right) knocked in the go-ahead run with two outs. In the last of the ninth, Kubis entered to try to close the door, but Lawrence scratched out two runs, including the winner with two outs.
