Oct. 10 – SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Bethany College cross-country teams competed in the Mack Cooper Invitational at Slippery Rock University on Saturday morning.
Junior Ryan Donnelly (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) led the way for the men, earning 25th overall with a time of 27:15.7. Freshman Jordan Castro (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua) turned in a solid performance as well, finishing in 29th place (27:25.7). The trio of Austin Davis (Honolulu, Hawaii/Moanalua), George Hypolite (St. John’s, Antigua/Antigua Grammar), and Alexander Michalenko (Moon Township, Pa./OLSH) rounded out the top five for the Bison.
The Bethany men’s team ran to an eighth-place finish in the race. The Bison’s top-five times combined for a total of 2:24:16.3. Walsh University finished first overall with a time of 2:12:29.2 and had four top-five performers. Jeremy Parsons of Slippery Rock University earned first place with a time of 25:56.3.
The women’s team was led by Michaela Ross (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua). Ross, a junior, placed 51st overall with a final time of 25:47.1. Senior Kelsea Martz (Hedgesville, W. Va./Hedgesville) earned 54th place (26:24.6), while sophomore Elizabeth Timas (Middlfield, Ohio/Cardinal) finished behind her (28:24.8).
The Bethany cross-country teams will be back in action on October 17th at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble at 11:00 a.m.
