Sept. 13 - MARIETTA, Ohio – Bethany College’s men’s and women’s cross country teams ran in their second race of the season Saturday at Marietta (Ohio) College’s Carl Broughton Invitational.
The BC women finished ninth out of 10 teams at the meet, which included two Division II teams and one NAIA program. Earning top honors for the Bison was sophomore Suzanne Stettinius (Parkton, Md./Hereford), who took 22nd place out of 98 runners with a time of 21:49.70. Behind her was junior Maggie McCort (Fort Ashby, W.Va./Frankfort) in 45th place with a time of 23:19.05.
Bethany’s full roster of runners on Saturday included junior Jodi Bodo (Steubenville, Ohio/Steubenville Catholic Central) and Alissa Moss (Washington, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) and junior Lindsay Brewer (Wadsworth, Ohio), who placed 72nd, 73rd and 75th respectively, and sophomore Shadoe Martin (Waynesburg, Pa./Waynesburg Central).
The Bison men had only three runners compete at the race, so they did not score as a team. Junior Patrick Miller (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) was BC’s first runner across by coming in 79th, while freshmen Richard Violet (McMechen, W.Va./John Marshall) and Richard Strassguetl (Munich, Germany/Rupprecht-Gymnasium) also competed.
