Nov. 13 - SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa – The Bethany College men’s and women’s cross country teams closed out their seasons Saturday by running at the NCAA Mideast Regionals, hosted by Carnegie Mellon University at Coopers Lake near Slippery Rock, Pa.

The Bison men finished in 39th place overall out of 47 teams, while the BC women, hampered by injuries and illness, only ran as individuals.

Freshman Cory Yarrington (Berkeley Springs, W.Va.), who earned Second Team All-PAC at the conference championship meet Oct. 30, capped a good first season by using a strong finishing kick to place 148th overall out of 316 runners with a time of 28:16.0.

The next two runners to cross for Bethany were freshmen Brandon Miller (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and Hunter Ankrom (Moundsville, W.Va./John Marshall), who placed 240th and 242nd, respectively.

The women’s team, who was missing senior All-PAC performer Joanna Mongelluzzo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) because of injury, was down to just runners for the meet in junior Kaitlyn Black (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) and sophomore Melissa Davis (Lancaster, Ohio).
