Oct. 26- CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- Sophomore Jacqueline Harrison (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) recorded 11 saves, but the Bethany College field hockey team fell, 4-0 at Wilson on Saturday afternoon.
Bethany had a tough time breaking down the Phoenix defense and managed only two shots on the afternoon.
Wilson was very efficient on offense, firing 17 shots of which 15 were on goal.
Senior Ashlee Needy (Chicago, Ill/Marist) and sophomore Courtney Snyder (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) each recorded a shot for the Bison.
Harrison kept the game scoreless, as she made two saves in the first eight minutes of the first half. Hillary Swartz managed to get one past Harrison at the 8:50 mark, which gave Wilson a 1-0 lead.
Bethany earned its first penalty corner of the game in the 18th minute, but was unable to get one behind Wilson netminder Gina Weigold.
Alexis Ankro scored Phoenix’s second goal at 24:11, as she took a pass from Swartz and put it into the net.
Wilson added two additional goals in the second half and would take the victory, 4-0.
Bethany returns to action for its last road test of the season on Tuesday at Frostburg State (7:00 p.m.), before it returns home to face Washington and Jefferson for its regular season finale on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
