Dec. 3 - SALEM, Va. – Bethany College senior offensive lineman Jason Soltis (Port Vue, Pa./South Allegheny) has been selected for The DIII Football Senior Classic in Salem, Va.

Kickoff for the second annual Senior Classic will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 at Salem Stadium. This marks the second consecutive year the Bison have had a player chosen to play in an All-Star game after Matt Dahle played in the 14th annual All American Bowl College All-Star game in Charleston, W.Va., last March.

Soltis has been named to the South Team, which will be coached by Tony Ierulli and the Maryville (Tenn.) College staff. He is joined on the roster by fellow PAC player Craig Sedunov from Washington & Jefferson, who will play in the defensive secondary.

This honor was earned by Soltis after he was voted First Team All-PAC after starting all 10 games at right guard. He was part of the BC line that earned the Offensive Line of the Week after the team pounded out 387 rushing yards in a 31-29 win at King’s Sept. 11. For the season, the Bison were ranked second in the PAC in rushing offense (202.4) and posted four games with 236 or more rushing yards. The 2,024 rushing yards by the team this season was also the second-most in school-history.

"Jason had a great year for us, and provided a great deal of leadership as the only senior who played on the offensive line," said Bethany head coach Tim Weaver. "We're very excited for him and pleased that his performance got noticed outside the PAC."

A physical education major, Jason is the son of Ed and Diane Soltis of Port Vue, Pa.
