Stephen Amic To Compete In D3 Senior Classic

Dec. 18 – BETHANY, W. Va. – Bethany College football senior punter Stephen Amic (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) has been selected to participate in the 2014 Division III Senior Classic which will be held on Saturday, December 20 in Myrtle Beach, S. C.

Amic, who was recently named a First-Team All-American selection by USA College Football, Inc., earned his first First-Team All-PAC award following the 2014 campaign.  

In 2014, Amic was the top punter in the PAC, averaging a career-best 40.4 yards per punt. He totaled 12 punts of over 50 yards on the year which marked the same amount that he had posted in his previous three years, combined. He also placed a career-best 21 punts inside the opponents’ 20-yard line, which also led the conference.

The D III Classic, which will be held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, is part of the National Scouting Showcase (NSS) and will showcase players from all around the landscape of Division III football.

Amic becomes the second senior this season to appear in a post-season all-star game as he joins defensive back Wyssmy Despagne (Riverdale, Pa./Parkdale) who competed in the National Bowl in Miami, Fla. On December 7.
