Feb. 24 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – Bethany men’s basketball senior Leslie Addy (Columbia, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) has been named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced the PAC on Monday.
Addy made the most of his final two regular-season games for the Bison, shooting a combined 50 percent (11-of-22) from the floor and averaging a double-double with 15.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while adding 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game in a pair of home victories. In Bethany’s 80-77 win over Thomas More on Feb. 19, Addy totaled 13 points, six rebounds and three assists. He registered his fifth double-double of the season in Saturday’s 72-69 win against W&J, totaling 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Addy finished the 2013-14 regular season campaign averaging 11.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. An efficient scorer, Addy shot 46.9 percent from the field and ranked fifth in the PAC in three-point percentage (.441). He also ranked in the top 10 in the conference in steals per game, blocked shots per game, and offensive rebounds per contest.
This marks the second straight week that a Bison has been named the PAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, as Delonte’ Joyce (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) earned the award a week ago.
Addy helped the Bison earn the regular season PAC title by posting a 21-4 record, including a 14-2 mark in conference play. Bethany will open the PAC playoffs in a quarterfinal match on Tuesday, Feb. 25, when it hosts the winner of tonight’s “play-in” contest between Geneva and Westminster. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip.
