Bethany Track & Field Competes at Mount Union

April 10 – ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Bethany College outdoor track & field team competed in the John Homon Open at the University of Mount Union on Sunday afternoon.

The Bison long-distance runners competed throughout the day at the meet.

For the men, junior Ryan Donnelly (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) led the way with a fifth-place finish in the 5000-meter run. Donnelly posted a time of 15:46.91.

Sophomores Austin Davis (Honolulu, Hawaii/Moanlua) and Donald Bierhals (Cabot, Pa./Knoch) each collected a top-ten finish in the 800-meter run. Davis placed ninth (2:01.96), while Bierhals finished 10th with a time of 2:02.20. Sophomore Robert Newhart (Shadyside, Ohio/Shadyside) rounded out the Bison runners as he crossed the finish line in 2:14.95. 

On the women’s side, junior Lauren Simpson (Washington, Pa./Trinity) and sophomore Biz Timas (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal) competed in the 800-meter run. Simpson placed 35th overall (2:39.30) and Timas finished 40th (2:46.47).
