March 21 - NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Bethany junior Jodi Bodo (Steubenville, Ohio/Steubenville Catholic Central) took first place in the 200 and 400 at the Muskingum Invitational Saturday.
Bodo was the lone Bison to compete at the meet, as Bethany is on spring break. Although she was the only one competing, Bodo’s efforts scored 20 team points for Bethany to place them sixth out of eight programs.

In the 400, Bodo was seeded first and held up her lofty positioning by winning the event over 12 other competitors. Her time of 59.97 was comfortably ahead of the second place finisher Tanisha Williams of Ursuline, who crossed in 1:01.56.

Bodo was nearly as impressive in the 200. She took first in front of 18 other runners by finishing in 27.06, nearly a full second in front of Ursuline’s Kayla Zurcher (27.99).

The BC junior and the rest of the Bethany men’s and women’s track and field teams will begin their full spring schedule next Saturday at the Wheeling Jesuit Invitational.
