Jan. 23 - MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The 2010 season got underway for the Bethany men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams Saturday at the unscored West Virginia University State Farm Games in Morgantown. The meet featured five schools, including just one other Division III program in Penn State Behrend.

The top placements by Bison runners came on the women’s side. Freshman Erin Reske (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) placed a close second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:47.04. Senior Jodi Bodo (Steubenville, Ohio/Steubenville Catholic Central) had a pair of strong races, winning her heat and taking third overall in the 200 (27.73) after placing sixth in the 400 (1:02.23).

For the men, senior Taylor McNeil (Old Saybrook, Conn.) placed well in a pair of sprints. He advanced out of the preliminaries in the 60 and finished fourth in the finals by crossing in 7.36 seconds. McNeil would lose a narrow race in his heat in the 200, but his time of 23.73 seconds was good enough for fifth overall out of 23 runners.

A pair of Bison showed well in the shot put event. Freshman Brady McConnell (Valley Grove, W.Va./Wheeling Park) took third overall with a throw of 12.78 meters and sophomore Seth Myers (Valley Grove, W.Va./Wheeling Park) was right behind in fourth place (12.12).

The Bison teams will return to competition Feb. 6 when they travel to the Mount Union Invitational.
